Who We Are
Disability Labour is a not-for-profit membership organisation affiliated
with the Labour Party. We represent and advocate for disabled members
within the Labour movement and are committed to protecting your
personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection
Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What Data We Collect
We collect and process the following personal data from members:

    • Full name
    • Contact details (email address, phone number, postal address)
    • Labour Party membership status (if applicable)
    • Accessibility requirements (optional)
    • Communication preferences
    • Payment details (for membership fees, if applicable)
      We do not collect or store sensitive health data unless explicitly provided
      for accessibility or support purposes.

    Why We Collect Your Data
    We process your data to:

      • Manage your membership and maintain accurate records
      • Communicate with you about Disability Labour activities, events,
        and campaigns
      • Enable your participation in Labour Party internal elections where
        applicable
      • Administer consultations and democratic processes within the
        organisation

        Data Sharing

          • With the Labour Party, under a specific, time-limited Data
            Sharing Agreement for the sole purpose of verifying eligibility and
            enabling participation in a particular internal election governed
            by One Member One Vote rules.
          • Examples of such elections include Leadership and Deputy
            Leadership contests, where affiliated members are entitled to
            vote.
            Each agreement is unique to the election in question and does not
            permit ongoing or general access to our membership data. We will never
            share your data for marketing, profiling, or any non-electoral purpose.

          Data Retention
          We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary:

            • Membership data: Up to 12 months after your membership ends
            • Electoral data: As required by the Labour Party for the duration of
              the relevant election
            • Financial records: 6 years (for audit and accounting compliance)
