Purpose of this Form

Disability Labour is a Socialist Society affiliated to the Labour Party. Our focus is “disabled people’s rights vs wrongs,” working across the Labour movement to put disability first.

To maintain the democratic integrity of our work, all Officers and Representatives must declare any personal, financial, or political interests. This register protects both Disability Labour and its Officers from allegations of undue influence, bias, or conflicts of interest, ensuring transparent and accountable governance.

Categories of Registrable Interests

Please state “Nil” or “None” in any section where you have no interests to declare.

1. Professional Employment and Disability Advocacy Roles

Detail any paid employment, consultancies, or directorships. Explicitly include
roles within disability charities, advisory groups, or non-departmental public
bodies (e.g., Department for Work and Pensions advisory panels)

2. Trade Union & Labour Party Affiliations and internal groupings

Detail any elected, lay, or paid positions held within Trade Unions or other Labour Party Socialist Societies. You must also declare your active membership, committee roles, or organising involvement in internal Labour Party political networks and groupings (e.g., Momentum, Labour to Win, Open Labour etc).

Also Include any roles where you act on behalf of Disability Labour, such as representation on internal Labour Party committees or regional structures.

3. Campaigns and External Pressure Groups

Detail your involvement with external, cross-party, or non-party campaign groups (e.g., DPAC, Disability Rights UK, ). Include both formal organisations and informal campaign networks where you play an active role. This encompasses informal networks, WhatsApp organising groups, local disability campaigns, and cross-party coalitions.

4. Public Office, Judicial Appointments and Institutional Representation

Detail any public offices or judicial appointments held (e.g., local Councillor, MP, Magistrate, Justice of the Peace, School Governor) or positions on internal Labour Party bodies (e.g., National Executive Committee or National Policy Forum).

5. Financial Sponsorship or Material Grants

Detail any financial support, grants, or equipment provisions received from external bodies that assist you in your political or advocacy work within Disability Labour. This includes travel expenses, equipment loans, funded training, or any in-kind support.

6. Close Personal Associations

Declare any close family or personal relationships with individuals whose employment or political roles may intersect with Disability Labour’s work.

This includes spouses, partners, or immediate family members employed by disability charities, MP/MS/MSP offices, DWP contractors, or related healthcare bodies.

7. Any other Relevant Interests

Detail any other relevant personal, professional, or voluntary activity, memberships or relationships not covered by the categories above that a reasonable observer might perceive as creating a potential conflict of interest, or that could impact your ability to impartially fulfil your duties within Disability Labour.
